In the Philly DIY scene, block parties get you more than just a DJ and Restaurant Depot hot dogs and hamburgers. This weekend, Magic Death Sounds throws their second annual block party replete with local bands, grub, vendors and booze on North Blair between Norris and Dreer.
The leaderless cassette label responsible for the mobile outdoor Magic Death Bike Ride shows teamed up with Philadelphia Bike Rescue to present eleven Philly bands (+ NOLA-based Magic Death alums Dolphin Mouth) on two stages this Saturday.
The $10 ticket price goes straight to the bands but you’ll get more than just local jams on the house. The restaurant-experienced MDS crew whipped up home-cooked food sourced from local farms, most of which reside within the city limits. Plus, your keg access comes courtesy of Philadelphia Brewing Company and let’s not forget the complimentary bike valet from Phila Bike Rescue! That shit’s free, free, free!
