Though a steady source of remixes, soundcloud updates, and even his own clothing line, Pictureplane hasn’t produced a proper LP since 2011’s Thee Physical. The Brooklyn-by-way-of-Denver producer is never one to slow down, but it is nice to hear a cohesive album from Travis Egedy. And we’re sure it’s no coincidence that it’s being released the day before Halloween.
Due out October 30 on Anticon, Technomancer is a dark, continued exploration of a new sex/sexuality and the banality of material. Egedy embraces technology more on his latest than in prior releases (thus the title?), but his “democratization” of electronic music is still very much present, with his own alien touches all over the record.
