On Black Friday of 2014, Ras G and the masked rapper Koreatown Oddity formed the group 5 Chuckles. As 5 Chuckles, Ras and Oddity fell somewhere between Ice Cube and Chris Tucker on Friday and Madlib and Doom recording “American’s Most Blunted”. Well 5 Chuckles is back with the sequel to ramp up the hijinks on In The Wrld.
The sequel nearly finds a narrative, as 5 Chuckles are active stoners who find themselves at the beach, at a barbecue, on the set of “House Party Twelve”, pulled over by the cops on “Da Po-Lice (phuck em)”, and at the BET Awards. The same cannot be said for Open Mike Eagle on “Diz nee Land”, he’s a different breed of green card holder. Lucid psychedelics of cinematic soul collide with trashcan funk throughout the duration, all courtesy of Ras G’s deep crates.
