For three weeks in January, London post-punk band Savages unapologetically obliterated venues in New York City with their roaring, blistering music. It was during this residency that the band tested new material for the follow up to their 2013 debut, Silence Yourself. Since then, the new album has been finalized and mixed by electronic producer Trentemøller in Copenhagen. Although the release is not set until next year, the band has offered up a teaser with footage from their string of NYC shows. The video features Henry Rollins narrating text from Phyllis Rose’s book Jazz Cleopatra: Josephine Baker in Her Time over clips that capture the band’s ferocious intensity and effortless delivery.
