We’re at a Fever pitch waiting for Black Milk’s upcoming album, his first solo offering in 4 years. The gifted Detroit MC/Producer whet our appetite with his “Laugh Now Cry Later” single, and now he’s offering up his second track before Fever’s February 23rd release. “True Lies” finds Black Milk reflective on the miseducation he experienced in his native Detroit, where they’d “rather make it flippin’ than to go pay a tuition.”
“Was born into a hell, so you already failed/ They say dont live life on the edge man I might as well” he rhymes over a thick, jovial bass line and live drums. The track shows Black Milk not only as incisive as ever, but switching up his flow to keep pace with the lively production. “True Lies” is another strong preview of what we can expect on Fever, which will drop on Computer Ugly/Mass Appeal records.
