Dedicated to Mom

Post Author:

If you couldn't tell by our mother-appropriate material and constant discussion of sweaters and tea, we at Impose love moms. From hot moms to old moms to new moms to teen moms, there's nothing better than a woman who is forced forever to deal with one of us. That cannot be an easy task. With Mother's Day coming up this Sunday (do not forget—order some flowers or a cheese plate or whatever!), we asked some of our favorite bands to contribute a song to dedicate to their moms. We got a wide range of artists and an even wider range of songs, making for a mix as diverse and earnest as the lovely ladies in our lives. Big ups to our moms and yours. Happy mother's day, women.

Enya, “Sail Away”
My most memorable Mom song moment was “Sail Away” by Enya. I remember being a kid, maybe 7 years old, and my mom, sister, and I danced around the house to this song. it was all my mom's doing, which was uncharacteristic for her. She was never one for dancing and had no great interest in music that i knew about otherwise, but that afternoon she started moving her arms in these long strokes and bent her legs and moved about the house, like a crane maybe. My sister and i were caught off guard and were excited and joined in trying to mimic her movements and we made each other laugh and laugh. Listened to the song 3 or so times.
