The Go! Team’s upcoming SEMICIRCLE album is shaping up to be a return to form for the Brighton, England-based band. After crafting the bulk of 2015’s The Scene Between, Bandleader Ian Parton has decided to reunite with former members of the band such as guitarist Sam Dook and rapper Ninja. They rejoined the current crew to develop an exciting sound that’s at play on previous singles “Mayday” and “Semicircle Song,” as well as “All The Way Live,” the latest single from the project due January 19th.
“All The Way Live” samples Carver Area High School’s after school rap club, who crafted “Get Live 83,” in 1983. “All The Way Live” reimagines the original song’s 80s luster, as the vocals ring true to the empathic deliveries of hip-hop’s original golden era. The blaring horns, hip-hop influenced drums and invigorating chorus by the Detroit Youth Choir are ripe to get the party started and bring a retroactive funk to speaker systems and festival stages abound.
