Last week Sacramento held its first ever Electronic Music Festival. For the locals that missed out, don’t be surprised if this becomes a yearly thing, as two-story dive The Townhouse embraced a dense attendance with two of the evenings selling out.
Night One featured performances by local laptop and pushbutton wizards Thriftcar, Vacant Persons and house band CityState, with Bay Area acts Mochi Pet and Seventh Swami making the trip inland. DJ Whores and DJ Crush Light rotated positions in the upstairs and downstairs DJ booths, keeping the bodies compacted and sweaty no matter which floor they occupied. It was a night that set the tone for a bender of a weekend.
