UK Electro-Rock Band Strobes recently released their debut album Brokespeak on Blood & Biscuits records. Comprised of Keyboardist Dan Nicholls, drummer Joshua Blackmore and guitar and synth man Matt Calvert, the band has made their name with a frenetic, futuristic fusion of electronic elements, math rock and myriad other elements.
Their “OK please,” single is a typically frantic offering featuring energetic, scatterbrained synths spilling over rapid fire guitar riffs. The track is a breakneck excursion, with an accompanying video following a young man walking through a glitchy netherworld. According to Nicholls, the band used a Tachyon+ analogue video synth to. He says that, “all the processing for each clip is manipulated ‘live’ to the music.”
The resulting product is a clip that works symbiotically with the song, mirroring the sensory swirl that is “OK Please.”
