The Dig, “Simple Love”

Post Author: Michael Brummett

New York natives, The Dig, take both fashion and imagination by storm with a leopard-print jacket symposium of rock and roll, in their video premiere of “Simple Love”. Daunting wire framed glasses, the old man turned maestro brings us into his own mind, mirroring this musical embodiment of magical realism. It isn’t until the latter half of this interpretive production that we discover the music and the band are mere figments of his own imagination.

The song itself is as playful as its cast, with nods to cracking whips, violin elements, plus a healthy and welcomed hint of church organ. A naturally catchy, light-hearted take on traditional stylistic choices, “Simple Love” is a memorable, inherently deep, and introspective journey.
