Here’s a treat. A previously unreleased Donovan Wolfington song, “Spiders”, just surfaced as part of a new charity compilation, The Big Comp II. Released by Big Footprints Records and benefitting environmental charities 1BlueString and the Nature Conservancy’s Adopt an Acre Program, the 85-band comp is an absolute fucking behemoth. The lineup, too, is stacked, and bands like LVL Up, American Football, The World is a Beautiful Place and I am No Longer Afraid to Die, and You Blew It! are only a few of the highlights. Just look at that cover.
But “Spiders” is special. Embracing the bands loud-quiet pop-punkster sensibilities like never before, it’s a huge song with the intimacy of a quiet dorm room one-on-one. It even shares, more or less, a line with Pile, and that’s always a plus in our books. The Big Comp II is only five bucks, for a good cause, and out now.
