Hot Curl‘s new track “Silver” is peak moody beach goth. The Brooklyn based four piece makes music that is totally psychedelic, blues-y and makes you want to drop everything and go to the ocean. Throughout “Silver’s” four minutes, we get to hear multiple lines of expansive guitar, blues rock inspired bass and classic ’60s style drumming. Lyrically, the song tells the story of someone who is bored and anxious, “scratching their wounds before they can heal,” and essentially staring at the ceiling waiting for time to pass. The song feels like a late night on the west coast in the summer. “Silver,” is sweaty, sensual and, all in all, makes you want to never stop dancing.
Hot Curl is playing a show in NY on April 17th at Alphaville. Keep up with the band here.
