New York’s indie rock four piece Robot Princess has a new song in store for us all. You may recognize its namesake, “Claudia”, as she is a character from the ever-popular series The Baby-Sitters Club. We’ve got the exclusive premiere right here.
Yes. That’s all we’ve got. Yes. It’s rock, it’s heavy while being light, it’s an intricate narrative and it’s amazing. With slight nods to Weezer and Andrew McMahon vocals-wise and a little bit of a Fountains of Wayne feel in lyric composition, it’s got that perfect balance of raw instrumentals that we’ve been craving between all the synth pop ballads lately. This song rocks you so much harder than you may expect, with its honest lyrics displayed as an almost-love letter to its namesake.
One word? Amazing.
The band will celebrate the single’s release at Cake Shop in New York on September 15th.
