Two months ago we crapped ourselves over the Lefse Records sampler. We were so over Neon Indian, pretty much before it even gained momentum. We have moved on to labelmates Tape Deck Mountain.
Tape Deck Mountain is the bedroom project of San Diegoan (San Diegan?) Travis Trevisan. The kid is the American Dream delivered to your doorstep. After being laid off a year ago, he took his unemployment like a man and went Horatio Alger on America's ass by composing a record of slacker-fuzzed lullabies.
The debut Ghost from opening track “Scantrons” is a climb up a mountain with several vistas to admire. We have three songs below to help you gain some perspective, but trust when we say there's still plenty more to be discovered.
Do you like masks and contests? Be one of the first 100 to pre-order the Ghost LP and you will get a mask insert. Take a photo of yourself sporting the creepy mask, email it to the band and Lefse will send you a secret url leading to a treat bag of b-sides, remixes and demos.
