Cut Copy is hard at work self-producing their third album and, it seems, listening to a lot of Beach Boys songs.
The recently released “Where I'm Going” finds Cut Copy abandoning their synths and thumping dance beats in favor of mining Brian Wilson's bag of tricks. The song that embodies that same summery, 60s California vibe spiced up with a few extra woos and yeahs. Does this mean that we'll see an album inspired more by psychedelic trips than sweat on the dance floor? We'll see.
The yet to be titled new album is slated for release in early 2011 via Modular. You can catch them at East River State Park for free on August 8.
