Moon Block Party Desert Daze

Post Author:

Moon Block Party, a community of artists and musicians based in Pomona, California is organizing an 11 day festival, Desert Daze, to take place from April 12th through the 22nd in North Palm Springs, California at Dillon's Roadhouse. The group charge themselves as a “community effort to facilitate the ever expanding growth of the human spirit.” Desert Daze boasts over 100 bands, DJs, live artists, visual installations, projections, workshops, food trucks and more. The festivities will take place from 4pm to 2am daily and are free but a $5 donation is encouraged each day. A sample of the large number of bands playing include Dengue Fever, Dead Meadow, Bleached, The Fresh & Onlys, Crystal Antlers, Breakestra, Spindrift, Akron/Family, Here We Go Magic and The Soft Pack. Daily events are presented by different partners including Burger Records, Origami Vinyl, Blundertown, LA Record, What Cheer? Productions, Tom Tom Magazine, Buddyhead / Miracle Records, Thief Presents, Operation Mindblow and FMLY Fest. Additionally Moon Block Party is taking over a secret motel during the festival where guests will be presented with more music, DJs, and food trucks. The location will only be revealed to those who make reservations. Information on how to do that here. This all seems ambitious, but also amazing.

Moon Block Party is happening at the same time and in close proximity to another exciting California music Festival, Coachella, which is neither free nor happening continuously for an 11-day period. Coachella sold out long ago, but if you are a (lucky?) soul who is attending Coachella, you could go to this during the week in between those two endcaps. I guess. Coachella sucks. This will rule.

More information can be found at the Moon Block Party website here.
