Each year record store day brings with it a slew of special releases, most of them nearly impossible to track down. The year 2013 will certainly be no exception as Numero announces an exclusive double 7-inch release compiling songs from an early Husker Du recording session. The tracks were recorded in August 1980 at Blackberry Way Studio in Minneapolis for a 7-inch the band planned to release on Twin/Tone. When the deal went sour, two of the songs were released on Reflex Records as “Amusement b/w Statues” the following year, but soon fell out print after just two pressings.
The Numero release compiles remastered versions of “Amusement b/w Statues” and studio alternates “Writer's Cramp” and “Let's Go Die.” The reissue will be pressed out of an edition 4000 and released in a gatefold jacket.
