Pat Egan, longtime beloved Director of Sales at Relapse Records, passed away on Monday, February 18 after a battle with pneumonia. To honor his life, Relapse has released a 20-track compilation called Patlapse to Bandcamp featuring all of his favorite Relapse bands, including Mastodon, Brian Posehn, and The Dillinger Escape Plan. The comp is available here for digital download at a base price of $5, but supporters can name any price above that. Additionally, donations are being accepted through PayPal at wellmissyoupat@relapse.com. All proceeds will go toward a college fund for Egan's daughter, Katie.
Impose has had the pleasure of working with Relapse for our entire existence as a publication, and have the utmost admiration and respect for the people who work(ed) there. Not only because of their continued pursuit of, and dedication to, great independent music, but the familiar nature in which they handle business. They have always treated us in the most exemplary fashion, and while I didn't know Pat personally, I can only assume he was an extension of this credo.
