Feeder, All Bright Electric

Post Author: , Justin Hernandez

Feeder is back from their four year hiatus this Friday with their ninth album All Bright Electric, the band’s first since 2012’s Generation Freakshow. All Bright Electric is a polished return to form for the Welsh rockers  that is lavishly produced, updating the sound of Feeder’s sprawling choruses and rock pop verses while still maintaining their heaviness and depth. This dynamic balance is perfectly illustrated in the two preview tracks the band has released: the new prog metal of “Universe of Life” and the modern rock gem “Eskimo”. Both very different songs, yet still recognizably and undeniably Feeder.

All Bright Electric can be seen as a triumph in its relevance alone for not many bands or performers manage to sound so fresh or inspired after a quarter decade of making music. Feeder doesn’t miss a beat, however, blending modern pop sounds and production techniques with rock so classic and timeless it might as well be Stonehenge. While some songs such as “Infrared-Ultraviolet” capture a stark simplicity, others like “Geezer” or “The Impossible” have enormous moments that lift the listener and album to thrilling new heights like only Feeder can.

All Bright Electric will be released this Friday on Cooking Vinyl and the album is available for pre-order now. You can also follow Feeder on their Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
