Fuck Deerhunter. Ex Models have been at their aggro sometimes fundustrial noise for years, in and out of existence, continuing to convincingly cling to no wave roots (Blonde Redhead, is this what happens when you get old?!) while successfully cultivating numerous tangential music projects (Oneida, (guest spot on) Awesome Color, Some Girls, Pterodactyl, The Seconds). They're back this summer with two New York dates and recording sessions plotted for the coming fall. With a fan base/support system that counts, among others, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Deerhunter (ok, don't fuck them), the band has the pedigree of a Deerhound, or maybe a mangy pound mutt that can tear the other pound dogs to shreds, depending how you look at it.
With a lineup forever in turmoil, this current carnation reflects their earliest efforts, with Shahin Motia and Zach Lehrhoff re-grouping with Jake Hefty and Shahyar Motia.
