Well, Speedy Ortiz continue to dominate guitars, hearts, and newslines. The Northampton foursome, with new guitarist (Grass is Green’s Devin McKnight) now in tow, just released a video for Real Hair EP standout “American Horror”, and also provided this month’s ROOKIE theme song, a cover of little-known ’70s German folk-singer Sibylle Baier’s “Lost Something in the Hills”. They are prolific, aren’t they? The band also just announced a fall tour with Mary Timony’s new band, Ex Hex, and, still, this is all coming on the heels of their Adult Swim single, “Bigger Party”. The cover is a beefed up, though no less haunting, update of the original; the video is like an American anime kid’s wet dream; the single has got their catchiest chorus to date. You can check all of it out, including tour dates, below.
