Outside Lands 2024 Day 3

Post Author: Greg Chow

The third and final day of the annual San Francisco music fest was headlined by Sturgill Simpson, but the star of the day was unquestionably Chappell Roan, who’s had one of the most meteoric rises in recent memory. Originally booked as a mid-card, smaller stage act, she played the main Lands End stage at 4PM, to the delight of the throng of pink-cowboy-hat-wearing fans–some of whom were lined out outside Golden Gate Park since 5AM. Wearing the blue sequined outfit featured in the “Hot to Go!” video to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the single, she thrilled the enthralled crowd with every note, step, and pantomimed H-O-T-T-O-G-O.
Besides Chappell Roan, the Sunday lineup was heavily country influenced–in fact, the entire weekend featured more country music than any previous Outside Lands. In addition to Sturgill Simpson’s headlining set, Teddy Swims brought his country/R&B mix to the Lands End stage, before Post Malone played a set of country music covers.
Check out photos from sets that also include Victoria Monét, Slowdive, Ben Howard, Elyanna, Cimafunk, Wisp, and Lael Neale.
