Emerging like the cadence from a rewind reel ripped from a VCR player; 93 Bulls main-man Cool Calm Chrys emerges on the scene like a force greater than a thousand backpackers & a wealth of mainstream signed emcees. 93 Bulls is the court side seats you could never afford from back in the day. 93 Bulls are the bragging rights of now. Operating on a rich arrangement executed through multiple levels, Chrys cuts through all the bullshit and shows the past & future who the real reigning champ is & always will be. Recorded in Chrys’s room on a four track cassette recorder he found in his mom’s garage; his crew of fellow Bulls Brendan Lynch Salamon & Ryan Pollie (of beloved local cult pop lore LAPD) flex their might as a power to be reckoned with through a timeless execution of silver spoon tales told through a working lens that introduces an element of originality that makes the future feel like the sound of the forgotten fresh sounds overlooked from yesterday’s record bins.

“Silver Lining” emerges out of that smoky lost groove space where saloon pianos with samples of classic back beats push up against the lo-fi cassette tape coasting quality. Chrys commands the mic with a relaxed delivery that compares his prowess with Power Ranger similes that dismisses & eschews the mud-slinging/shit-talking games for returning the focus to home made musical creations. Sending up a toast to that Grey Poupon life, 93 Bulls roll with the kind of swagger that could only be brought about by the creative Los Angeles collaborative teams that continue to turn the pages to the new multimedia aesthetics of tomorrow. From the southern California territories that have given us Low End Theory, FlyLo, Thundercat, Brainfeeder, & so many more beyond measure; 93 Bulls adhere to a classic & anachronistic Chicago league allegiance that set the entire world on fire when Jordan, Pippen, Kerr, Grant, Purdue, Cartwright & more heroes were plastered on your bedroom walls in posters that stood like a pantheon of greats. 93 Bulls prove themselves here of being worthy of such a gallery of legends & future stars.

Cool Calm Chrys presents the following exclusive intro to LA’s hottest new franchise property—93 Bulls:

MANIFESTO:

93 Bulls started as a nostalgic project with the idea that creation is more important than anything else. Comprised of three hooligans; Cool Calm Chrys (Rapper), Brendan Lynch Salamon & Ryan Pollie (of Los Angeles Police Department) producing—all hailing from the sun soaked city of Los Angeles. The first single from their self titled EP, Silver Lining is a track touching on some of the subjects that Cool Calm Chrys felt were always over his shoulder. The concept of monetizing art as well as finding ones true self have always been clashing ideals within himself. But, every dark cloud has a silver lining.

1993 Chicago Bulls:

The name 93 Bulls holds so much relevance and importance within my generation. The Bulls were synonymous with dominance, swagger, & the all around cool that the 90’s embodied. Its also a meaningful name that represent the team spirit behind the project. ’93 was the Bulls three-peat year which holds heavy inspiration in regards to how we view our work and art. We are Jordan, driving down the lane with his tongue out. John Paxson, draining corner threes… We are the the team that you can’t help but love because of the way we play together. Individually we are simply good at what we do. Together, we are a force to be talked about for years to come.
