Acting Strange
You might recall our previous coverage of Glasgow’s Acting Strange with their debut EP, and today we are proud to announce that their debut album TALK TALK TALK will be available March 31 through In Black Records. Cousins from the East Enders, Ali & Billy Strange recorded their first full-length in their hometown of East Kilbride in a converted shed in shifts over a tweo week process after an water pipe burst saw them relocating from their homebase in Glasgow. Utilizing a Tascam 8-track, Ali & Billy play it strange & play it cool with their self-produced labor of love that illustrates everything is weird & wonderful about the r & r aesthetic that keeps you coming back for more every time. Acting Strange continues to act out the rock & roll antics that their hearts & souls desire; an art that has been comodofied ten fold plus by coprorate interests & commercial licensing politics & the money talk of the pay to play game that keeps the most radical & exciting voices, sounds & arts from being heard, seen, experienced, etc.
“Save Me” comes in like a force of nature that brings the storm into the sanctuary from the ensuing onslaught of elements. Acting Strange busts out their most mean & mammoth chords you have ever heard from the band, where their strange behavior pays off with a style, sensibility & swagger that puts them up on a level next to your most beloved rock & roll deities. Acting Strange’s “Save Me” seeks that messianic-esque sort of solace in something or someone expressed in an unyielding array of chords from wailing guitars that bask in their own kind of unhinged & unsaved type of optimism. “Save Me” is the sound of the lonely beach island party that breaks out among the shipwrecked crew that has forsaken all sea ship or airplane saviors but rather commits themselves to throwing one heckuva palm tree party luau instead.
Ali Strange shared the following the new single:
“Save Me” is the first track we’ve released with cousin Billy on lead vocals. It’s no bullshit, fuzzy sound is reflective of where we are as live band now. We’ve embraced the chorus pedal with a vengeance, no going back.
